Thursday's strong breezes provided a perfect test for a new flagpole that workers installed at a home along South Beach in Rowayton. The high-tech pole features a pivoting gimble at the top so the flag can change direction with the wind and not get wrapped around the pole. There are also two halogen lamps in the ball at the top to illuminate the flag, allowing it to be flown after dark.
