NORWALK, Conn. Anderson Andy Haigh, 60, of Norwalk, died March 29 at Norwalk Hospital after a long, courageous battle with cancer.
He was born in Elmira, N.Y., Oct. 12, 1951, the son of Deborah and the late Jack M. Haigh Sr. He moved to Norwalk from Rye, N.Y., where he attended high school. Haigh worked at Norwalk Cove Marina for 25 years.
An offshore power boat racer, Haigh came in second place during a world championship. He enjoyed going fishing and clamming on the Long Island Sound, sailing in the British Virgin Islands and watching NASCAR. Haigh also was a master carpenter and an expert fiberglass repairman.
He is survived by his wife, Susie; his daughter, Heather Profusek and her husband Craig of Norwalk; his mother, Deborah of Wickford, R.I.; his brother, Jack Haigh, Jr. and his wife Karen of Fairfield; and two grandchildren. In addition to his father, he was predeceased by his younger brother, David.
Friends may call at Collins Funeral Home in Norwalk from 4-7 p.m. Monday. A burial at sea will be held privately at a later date.
