Both Colangelo and Blanco live in Fairfield.

“Both Dana and Mindee bring a wealth of experience and passion to their new positions," said Michael Patota, the center's president/CEO. "I cannot think of two better people to lead our board of directors, and look forward to working closely with them as we develop our agency’s new strategic plan.”

Colangelo has helped organize creative fundraisers for nonprofits throughout the area. She works part time for R.D. Scinto Inc., a family-owned real estate company, as director of public relations. She has been a member of the center’s board for nine years.

Blanco currently serves as Barnum Financial Group’s chief operating officer. She directs Barnum’s Wealth Strategies Division which, under her leadership, has become a transformative organization creating a business model that offers comprehensive consulting and timely, targeted sales empowerment and support, according to a press release. She is a co-founder of Foundation for Life Inc., a non-profit organization that supports hundreds of organizations throughout the Northeast. She has been a member of the center's board the last six years.

The center's main office is in Bridgeport, and it has clinics in Fairfield, Norwalk and Stratford.

For nearly a century, the mission of the center has been addressing the emotional and psychological well-being of children and their families. In the last year, it has served nearly 3,300 children and families with 88 percent of its clients living in poverty. For more information, visit www.cfguidance.org.
