Norwalk's Carver Center Honors Datto For Support

NORWALK, Conn. -- The Carver Foundation of Norwalk will honor Datto Inc. as its 2017 Community Builder during the Child of America America Gala in Darien this month.

“We are deeply grateful for Datto’s investment in Carver students and for inspiring them to pursue careers in STEM-related industries," Carver Executive Director Novelette Peterkin said in a statement. 

"We are excited about Datto’s continuing commitment to be involved with Carver on many levels in the future."

Austin McChord is the chief innovator and driving force behind Datto. Datto made the coveted Inc. 500 for three consecutive years, in 2012, 2013 and 2014. The company also received numerous industry awards, for company growth, product excellence and technical support.

“I was born in Norwalk and Datto is committed to the well-being of our community,” McChord said. “Carver students have visited our headquarters and I hope some of them will one day work for Datto.”

Past Community Builder award recipients include Pitney Bowes, Affinion Group, GE, Stew Leonard’s, Norwalk Hospital, Bank of America, Deloitte, Pepperidge Farm, and Ring’s End.

Marcus Mabry, Director of Mobile News Programming, CNN Digital Worldwide, will this year’s Child of America Honoree.

The award ceremony will be held on Friday, April 28, at the Wee Burn Country Club in Darien.
