Norwalk’s Katherine Price Sloan Snedaker was diagnosed with breast cancer in January. She has created an online blog about her journey, and it can be accessed online. Here is an excerpt from her latest blog entry, posted Sunday. This material has been published by The Daily Voice with approval from Ms. Snedaker.

NORWALK, Conn. -- Chemo is kicking my butt today, but I am just fine with it because ... I snuck in a trip to see the boys in a regatta down by Philly between getting chemo Friday a.m. and chemo hitting last night. Thanks to another parent who did the driving I was able to sleep on the ride down and back and the regatta schedule was shortened by high winds. It was great to see the boys out racing and they came back with medals for each race - not easy to do with high winds and some equipment breaking!

This last week was filled with wonderful stuff happening at the house with the living room all framed and the new roof back on the house. The construction guys even worked on the yard which had flood debris all tangled in the hedges and wrecked fence. They cleared the fence and raked everything clean - it looks so nice now. The tire swing stump was ground down today so I have about 10 yards of chips in my yard if anyone wants some?

Sure, cancer sucks and being bald now, it is more noticeable and less forgettable. I do get stopped everywhere by lovely people who want to share survival stories with me. ... Uplifting at times, tiring at other times. ... But with all the loss of life, limb, and health this week in Boston and Texas, I remain grateful that this is my lot in life. What I have is very bearable and yeah, I have bad days every few weeks but nothing like what many hundreds of people are suddenly dealing with in Boston and Texas.

I have so many loving friends and family and remain grateful that I can so far do this with your help.
