Norwalk Veteran Receives Mortgage-Free Home

NORWALK, Conn. -- Navy Ocean Mate Second Class Edward Smith was given a mortgage-free condominium in Norwalk from Wells Fargo and Operation Homefront.

Smith, a 30-year veteran of the Navy, was joined by his son at the event, held Oct. 15.

“Operation Homefront and Wells Fargo Bank are what make this country great,” Smith said in a statement. “Our country’s greatness is measured by how we treat out veterans. Thank you all for helping the veteran community.”

Operation Homefront leads more than 2,500 volunteers with nationwide presence who provide emergency and other financial assistance to the families of service members and wounded warriors.
