Norwalk Teen Receives Scholarship For Her Acts Of Kindness

NORWALK, Conn. — Alyah Fresnel, of Norwalk Grassroots Tennis, is the recipient of the B.kind scholarship, which is given by an organization based in New Canaan that centers on random acts of kindness.

This year, there only were four recipients of the $2,000 scholarships.

Fresnel has a keen knowledge of others and their challenges as tennis players, junior coaches, teammates, students and citizens, according to a press release. As a coach, she helps other coaches with their students by sharing successful teaching methods, the press release said. As a competitor and teammate, she plays to win but is humble in defeat and, in victory, respects the efforts of her competitor, said the press release.

She plans to study business next year in college and wants to promote a community mission to help those who are under resourced, according to a press release. She wants to create an understanding of the different experiences of the poor to build a better community, said the press release
