Norwalk Radiology & Mammography Center radiologist James Bauman, M.D., has been named one of the state's best physicians by Connecticut Magazine in its annual "Top Docs" feature, published in its April 2011 issue.
Bauman of Weston was also recognized last year and was one of 10 physicians recognized in the radiology category. More than 5,000 Connecticut medical leaders nominated the winners.
Connecticut Magazine's "Top Docs" list highlights 837 physicians representing 29 specialties practicing in lower Fairfield County. Professional experience, education, credentials and patient satisfaction were all factors that were considered.
"Being named to Connecticut Magazine's 'Top Docs' list is a great honor," Bauman said in a statement. "This recognition speaks to the clinical excellence and care my colleagues and I provide to our patients."
Certified by the American Board of Radiology in 1984, Bauman received his degree in medicine from Cornell University Medical College. After completing his internship at the Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, he trained as a resident in radiology at New York Hospital-Cornell Medical Center. He served as chief resident in 1984. Bauman completed a postgraduate program in body imaging at NYU Medical Center in 1985. He has been on staff at Norwalk Hospital since 1985.
