Norwalk Police Honor Civilians Who Helped Save Students From Bus

NORWALK, Conn. -- The Norwalk Police Board honored four civilians who assisted with the evacuation of a school bus that stalled on the railroad tracks as a train approached in December

Melissa Acevedo, Victor Monte, Sahzad Khan and Cory Acevedo were joined by members of the Norwalk Police force, who honored them for their life-saving actions.

The bus driver, along with three passers-by who  stopped to assist the students safely exit the bus, escorted them to safety and then calmed them while the train was brought to a stop just before it would have struck the bus.
