Norwalk Monker Grotto Gives Senior Center Donation To Upgrade Computers

NORWALK, Conn. - The Norwalk Monker Grotto Chapter of the Grottoes of North America has donated $2,000 to the Norwalk Senior Centers to upgrade the computer training lab for senior citizens in the city.

When completed, the Norwalk Senior Centers should have the most up-to-date facility with a new high-speed router for tis Wi-Fi network, Windows 8.1 and Windows 7 computer operating systems, Microsoft Office Suite programs and a new video projector.

The computer lab teaches about 24 courses a year, including courses on the the Apple iPad and iPhone.

The Grotto is a social fraternal order that supports several charities, including the Monker Grotto Little League Team in Norwalk.

Its other humanitarian projects include supporting research for the cause of cerebral palsy through the United Cerebral Research Foundation, and dentistry for children with special needs. Grotto members are all third-degree Master Masons from the various area Masonic Lodges.
