Norwalk Knights Of Columbus Raise $3,500 With Macaroni Dinner

NORWALK, Conn. -- The Norwalk Knights of Columbus St. Matthew Council #14360 hosted their fourth annual Columbus Day Macaroni Dinner on Oct. 24 and raised over $3,500.

The funds raised will go toward assisting the following organizations: Malta House, Notre Dame Convalescent Home, Homes for the Brave, Fisher House, Our Lady of Solace in Coney Island, N.Y., All Saints Catholic School, Star Inc., and Al’s Angels. 

“It’s one of most joyous nights of the year for our council as we honor those who worked hard for the council and the community,” said Grand Knight George Ribellino. 

As is custom every year, the dinner also includes the award winners for the past fraternal year. 

This year’s winners are: Knights Service Award-George Uzwiak; Friend of the Knights Appreciation Award-Nona Rudd; Knights Family of the Year 2014-2015-The Brown Family; Knights Appreciation Award-Ron Miller; Knight of the Year 2014-2015-Tim Horne. 

A special thanks to Brother knight Ed McGettigan and his company the Foursome Group for sponsoring the event, Steve Buckett and Zody’s 19th Hole for the macaroni dinner, and to brother knight Al DiGuido for donating dessert.

Knights of Columbus Saint Matthew Norwalk Council No. 14360 was founded in 2007 and performs fundraising and community outreach throughout the year, including its annual Macaroni and St. Patrick Day Dinners, as well as lends assistance to Notre Dame Convalescent Home in Norwalk, Family & Children's Agency of Norwalk, All Saint Catholic School, Malta House and Fisher House.
