Seven Knights from the council and one guest cooked 11 chili entries, ranging from sweet to tangy to almost diabolical, according to a press release.
More than 70 votes were tallied by those who wanted to make their opinions heard on the best, hottest and coolest-named recipes in the competition. More importantly, a total of $500 was collected that will go into the charitable fund, according to a press release.
Grand Knight George Ribellino, Deputy Grand Knight Scott Criscuolo and council supporter Nona Rudd won the best chili, best-named chili and hottest chili, respectively.
"I was pleasantly surprised to see the number of contestants and supporters who turned out for our first-ever chili cook-off," said committee chairman Erric Moretti in a press release. "The weather could not have been better, and I think all who attended enjoyed the competition with all of the great chili's available for tasting."
