On Jan. 31, a group of Brother Knights painted rooms at the Malta House.
“We continue to do all we can for this organization whose mission is to help women and families in dire need,” said George Ribellino, a grand knight. “Two bedrooms and a bathroom were repainted along with touch-up in other areas of the facility. A great thanks to Tim Horne, the council’s jack-of-all-trades, who helped spearhead the effort.”
On Jan. 21, the council hosted one of its Knights Knight Out events at Peachwave Frozen Yogurt on Route 7. Ten percent of all sales was donated toward the council’s scholarship fund.
On Feb. 5, the council held another Knights Knight Out fundraiser at Westport’s Saugatuck Sweets, which is owned by brother knight Al DiGuido. Thirty percent of sales made that day went toward the council’s charitable fund.
“The waffles are unique, and when topped with my personal favorite, caramel sea salt ice cream, the dessert is divine. Special thanks to brother Al and his wife, Chris, for their wonderful hospitality and, of course, sweets,” said Scott Criscuolo, deputy grand knight.
The organization’s next major event will be its sixth annual St. Patrick’s Day fundraiser dinner on March 21 at at St. Matthew’s Great Room at 5:30 p.m. For details and more information about the Knights, visit saintmatthewknights.com.
