Leah Tucciarone had big plans for Saturday at Calf Pasture Beach in Norwalk, but it rained. Now she would like you to know that you can still help her "STOP CMV." Weather permitting, you can join her at the beach this Saturday for a photo shoot to help prevent other children from suffering the congenital defects her son has.
Logan Tucciarone, 20 months old, has severe hearing loss and developmental delays because of congenital cytomegalovirus. His mother is looking for 200 volunteers to wear black T-shirts and black jeans and stand together to form the words "Stop CMV." The Norwalk Fire Department has donated the use of a ladder truck so a photographer can capture the moment from a high vantage point. Tucciarone then hopes to distribute the picture to doctors' offices and clinics to help pregnant women take steps to prevent CMV.
The event is now scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday at Calf Pasture Beach. Children will be allowed to climb on the ladder truck for some family friendly fun.
