Norwalk Gets In on Foursquare Day

Alison, a New Yorker, thinks the sausage at Norwalk’s Fat Cat Pie Co. is fantastic, but what you're really looking for is thin-crust pizza. Dorothy G. of Westport thinks the Fat Cat is "pretty awesome" but that the salad pizza at Jordan's Too is "AMAZING!!!"

That's just part of the commentary on Foursquare, a social networking site. Tomorrow is the second annual Foursquare Day – Tampa Bay resident Nathan Bonilla-Warford picked the date because 16 is four squared, and April is the fourth month.

Foursquare Day is the first globally recognized grass-roots celebration of the social media as a positive community force, according to Bonilla-Warford's blog. The idea is that people who know one another through Foursquare meet at a public place and then tell everyone they're there because of the social media site.

Yesterday Mayor Michael Bloomberg got in on the fun by declaring April 16 Foursquare Day in New York City.

What else can you find out on Foursquare? Wayne B. of Norwalk likes the Maritime Aquarium, and Matt D. of Stamford thinks the seals are better than the penguins. Abelardo G. of Norwalk has this to say about Norwalk Community College: "Don't go to class hungover!"

Derek F. of Stamford recommends spending 20 minutes in the Stepping Stones Museum for Children toy store.

You might figure that Paul V. of New Louden, N.H., has been arrested, because all he has to say about the Norwalk Police Department is "Blahhhhhhh!!!!" Or maybe he tried to become a cop and got turned down. It's hard to tell -- he doesn't give an explanation.

Are you going to join Foursquare now? What do you think about the Norwalk Police Department? Comment below!
