Norwalk Doctor Announces Retirement, Transfers Allergy Practice

NORWALK, Conn. -- Dr. Rishon Stember, M.D., announced he will retire as of Sunday, Nov. 30, and close his practice located at 91 East Ave. in Norwalk.

Stember will transfer his practice to the Fairfield County Allergy, Asthma and Immunology Associates at 148 East Ave. Call 203-838-4034 for more information. 

His practice has been in Norwalk for nearly four decades. Stember graduated from Cornell University with a bachelor of arts and received his medical degree from the New York University School of Medicine. 

He then served two years in the U.S. Navy as the medical officer of a destroyer division stationed in the Mediterranean. 

Stember completed separate residency training programs, first in Internal Medicine at the New York University Medical Center and then in psychiatry at the Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center. 

After residency, he completed a two-year fellowship in Allergy and Immunology at the New York University Medical Center.

Stember is certified by the American Board of Allergy and Immunology, a co-joint Board of the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Pediatrics. 

He has served as chief of the Allergy/Immunology Section at Norwalk Hospital since 1982, and has been a member of the Yale University School of Medicine faculty since 1986.
