NORWALK, Conn. -- Charlotte Baekey rushed to the ice cream truck after camp on Tuesday afternoon. After a day playing in 90 degree heat, the ice cream tasted good. "I had one yesterday, too," said the Naramake third-grader, who has been a regular this year at Personal Fulfillment Camp at Nathan Hale Middle School.
Charlotte's mother, Kara, also enjoyed a cherry-dipped vanilla soft-serve cone. "We have to eat it fast before it melts," she said. Charlotte and her mom weren't the only families with ice cream on their minds. The long line at the ice cream truck in the school parking lot kept other families waiting. Temperatures are expected to dip a few degrees Wednesday. But not enough for the kids and their moms to forgo ice cream after camp.
