Norwalk Agency Names Substance Abuse Coalition Chief

NORWALK, Conn. -- The Human Services Council, based in Norwalk, announced the appointment of Carlos Reinoso Jr. as the director for the Mid-Fairfield Substance Abuse Coalition.

Reinoso will begin his new role on Monday, Sept. 22.  He replaces Tracey-Ann George. She will be working with Reinoso during the transition.

Reinoso has been in the field of human services and education for the past 16 years. He has worked in clinical and educational settings as well as collaborated with many community centers and agencies statewide. Reinoso has extensive experience in prevention through educational presentations, community outreach and case management.

Before joining HSC, Reinoso served as coordinator of services at the Connecticut Council on Problem Gambling, where he was responsible for statewide outreach, legislative advocacy and community relations. He is a design team member and a certified facilitator for the Parent Leadership Training Institute with the Connecticut Commission on Children.  

"We are happy to welcome Carlos to our team,'' said Anthony DiLauro, executive director of the Human Services Council. "He has the qualifications, passion and personal characteristics to expand the program and help HSC reach its future goals.” 

MFSAC is one of 13 Connecticut Regional Action Councils and works to provide communities with education, training and advocacy for substance abuse prevention.

Reinoso has a Bachelor of Science degree in both psychology and human services, with additional certifications and training in behavioral health care and gerontology. He is completing his master’s degree in management and organizational leadership and is fluent in Spanish and Portuguese. He resides in Monroe with his wife and four children.
