Nancy Paul, 92, Former Norwalk Executive Secretary

NORWALK, Conn. – Nancy R. Paul, a former 70-year resident of Norwalk, died June 1 at Pope John Paul II Center for Health Care in Danbury, Conn. She was 92.

She was born Nov. 18, 1919, in Norwalk to Albert and Mildred Patchen Paul. After attending St. Mary Parochial School and Center Junior High School, Paul graduated from Merrill Business School. She also attended the University of Colorado at Boulder, where she studied art history and science.

Paul was employed as executive assistant to the vice chairman of the Union Trust Co. at the executive offices in Stamford. She retired in 1990. In her earlier years, she worked as assistant to the chairman and founder of the Burndy Corporation in Norwalk. At this time, Paul was named Secretary of the Year by the Norwalk Chamber of Commerce.

She is survived by a son Paul; a daughter, Margaret; and four grandchildren.

There will be no calling hours. A private memorial service will take place at the convenience of the family. Green Funeral Home in Danbury is in charge of arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Danbury Hospital Cardiac Care Unit, 24 Hospital Ave., Danbury, CT 06810.
