Maritime Aquarium Offers Free Admission To Norwalk Residents

NORWALK, Conn. -- The Maritime Aquarium at Norwalk is offering all city residents free general admission on Saturday, Dec. 7, as a part of "Salute Norwalk Day."

General admission gives residents access to the aquarium and the 2,700 animals, the 12th annual "Festival of Lighthouses" contest and the two special exhibits, "Underwater African Safari" and "Meerkats."

Discounts will also be available on IMAX presentations. Movies on Saturday will include "Great White Shark" at 11 a.m., "Born to be Wild" at noon, "Tornado Alley" at 2 p.m. and the animated feature "The Polar Express" at 4 and 7:30 p.m. 

Norwalk residents will also receive a 10 percent discount in the gift shop.

Proof of residence is required for free admission and discounts. 

The aquarium is located at 10 N Water St.
