To the Editor,
I tend to live a quiet life. I was thrust temporarily into the public's eye after my husband, Larry Paulk, was murdered Christmas day a few years ago. The sting has subsided, but the pain is still with me daily , and it is intensified every time there is an issue in the paper with those who bear my husband's and my last name and relatives who don't have our last name. We have many relatives and the egregious press hurts many of them, too. Additionally, anytime my husband's name is mentioned he is overshadowed by other and famous relatives.
My husband, as those who knew him can attest, was a man who stood for the right things. He was a man who tried to encourage people in the right direction. He was a family man. He was a great husband, father and the best role model not only to our two sons but also to a multitude of others as well. He was a community man who quietly, without fanfare, did things for anyone in need. My husband was a hero, and I wish many people would let him stand alone and not mix his name in rigmarole and just let him rest in peace.
Finally, I would like to offer condolences to the Stewart family who recently lost their mother . I understand your pain. May God be with you all and may your mother rest in peace with my husband.
