NORWALK, Conn. This letter from Holly Cuzzone extols the virtues of Peter Bondi, independent candidate for town clerk. Cuzzone is on the Friends of Cranbury Park and is working with the city on the park's restoration and master plan. She also wrote the state nomination to the register of historic places for Pine Island. She met Bondi "many years ago" through the Norwalk Historical Commission. Bondi is "A Better Choice" party candidate.
It is the obligation of the citizens of Norwalk to select the best-qualified people for the job this coming election. When you examine Peter Bondi's qualifications, it is obvious that he is the best choice for the office of town clerk. As a lifelong resident of Norwalk, Pete has the experience and passion for Norwalk's, past, present and future and will excel as Norwalk's new town clerk.
The town clerk's office is one of Norwalk's most important repositories for primary historical documents from our earliest beginnings to the present and includes land records, birth, death, burial and marriages. I regard Peter as one of Norwalk's best avocational historian, and he has volunteered thousands of hours working as a public servant holding the position of chairman of the Historical Commission, operations chairman for the Norwalk Seaport Association's Oyster Festival, committee chairman for the Sheffield Island Lighthouse restoration committee and chairman and coordinator of historical re-enactments. His experience with these organizations has given him the understanding and knowledge of the importance of historical documents and their curation.
I have had the pleasure of working with Peter on several of Norwalk's historic properties and have found Peter to be one of the hardest-working people I know. He is organized, sets realistic goals, meets his objectives, is an effective leader and is always a pleasure to work with. I look forward to seeing Pete as town clerk.
