The fast and flat USATF-certified course makes this 5K Run the perfect opportunity for serious runners to set qualifying personal records, according to a release from Habitat CFC.

Walkers are welcome and will enjoy views of the Long Island Sound, the release said.

Registration will open at 7:30 a.m. Stretching with Fitness Company will be from 7:30 - 9:00 a.m. The 5K race will start at 9 a.m. The kids' relay will begin at 10 a.m.

Participants will have the option of taking the Work Boot Challenge, in which they can run/walk the 5K Run course wearing their own work boots.

This challenge will take place at the same time and on the same course as the 5K Run.

Free food, refreshments and beer will be available at the event. There will also be an award ceremony.
