Is your son or daughter a talented musician? The Greenwich Symphony Orchestra is now accepting applications from instrumental music students for a $1,000 scholarship. High school seniors from throughout Fairfield County may apply.
The winner of the 50th Annual Dorothy Gluckmann Music Award will be honored onstage at the orchestra's final concert of the 2010-2011 season on April 17 in Greenwich High School Auditorium. A single prize of $1,000 or split prizes will be awarded to the winner.
Applicants must complete and mail a form, postmarked no later than Feb. 15, to Award Chairman, Greenwich Symphony Orchestra, P.O. Box 35, Greenwich, CT 06836. Qualified applicants will be notified before Feb. 20 to compete in auditions in March. Application forms can be obtained from the music department heads of all secondary schools in Fairfield County or by calling (203) 869-2664.
