All were nominated by friends, family, co-workers, admirers and Connecticut Magazine editors. Here is the list of locals on the list:

  • Actress Allison Williams, 26, of New Canaan: She soared to new heights, acting, singing, dancing and flying — live — as Peter Pan in NBC’s holiday musical last year.
  • Founder and CEO of Datto, Austin McChord, 29, of Norwalk: In eight years, McChord has taken Datto from a one-man startup to one of the nation's fastest-growing tech companies.
  • Architect Michael Black, 38, of Fairfield: Founded of Koala Residential Lifestyle, an architecture firm that designs and builds properties that live harmoniously with nature.
  • Activists Camila and Carolina Bortolleto, 26, of Danbury: Born in Brazil, the twin sisters moved to the U.S. at the age of 9 as undocumented residents. In 2010, they co-founded Connecticut Students for a DREAM, a state chapter of a national organization that works for the rights of undocumented youth and their families.
  • Writer/editor/producer David DesRoches, 35, of Bridgeport: A former award-winning reporter for the Darien Times, DesRoches recently joined WNPR/CPTV as an education reporter.
