NORWALK, Conn. – National car rental agency Enterprise Rent-A-Car is donating a total of $4,500 to three of Norwalk’s nonprofit groups, the company announced Monday.
The Norwalk Land Trust is receiving $2,500 to go toward its mission to preserve about 90 acres of open space and conservation easements throughout the city.
Additionally, the Norwalk Seaport Association and the Mid-Fairfield Child Guidance Center are each receiving $1,000.
Each donation is coming from the company’s charitable division, the Enterprise Rent-A-Car Holdings Foundation, and the company and representatives from the groups are holding a news conference Tuesday at the Farm Creek Preserve on McKinley Street in Rowayton to officially announce the gifts.
State Sen. Bob Duff (D-25), who was instrumental in groups obtaining the grants, said he is pleased by Enterprise’s generosity. The company has a rental office in Norwalk and a regional corporate office in Wilton.
“Every dollar helps,” said Duff, who will be joining the groups and representatives from Enterprise at the news conference, which is scheduled for 12:30 p.m.
“All three of these organizations are very important to the community, so I am very proud to be able to help secure this funding,” he added.
