DARIEN, Conn. -- Opus for Person-to-Person has unveiled a new fundraiser called the "BigGER Rig Gig" that will take place on Saturday, Sept. 21, at the Ox Ridge Hunt Club in Darien.
The new fundraiser will be an adults-only event from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. and will include gourmet food trucks, live music and games. The event is described as a "casual evening."
The new format takes the place of the old family-oriented "touch-a-truck" event that previously took place at the Darien Town Hall, but construction forced the relocation.
“We are thrilled to build on the legacy of our truck-themed fall fundraising event by creating the BigGER Rig Gig this year,” Jen Forlizzi, co-president of Opus for Person-to-Person, said in a statement. “This unique food truck party for adults promises to be a fun-filled night, and we are very optimistic that it will garner strong support from the community."
Details on purchasing tickets and attending the event are available on the Opus for Person-to-Person website: www.opus4p2p.org.
Person-to-Person, which serves in Darien and Norwalk, was founded in 1968 in an effort to help those in need and help others learn about the impact of poverty and injustice. Nearly 23,000 people received assistance from the organization in 2012.
