All books displayed will have a connection to animals, nature, science and exploration. Reading levels range from infant to young adult. A percentage of proceeds will be donated back to the Nature Center.

Independent consultant Emma Jordan will lead the sale and says all purchases will be delivered to the Nature Center by Dec. 21 for pickup. “I can’t wait to help families support their children’s love for literacy,” Jordan said.

Many of the books are age-appropriately interactive with “touch and feel,” “lift the flap,” and similar features.

“Not only do we hope to foster a love of reading at an early age, but these books can also help develop fine motor skills, concept development, artistic creativity – all those abilities that are so crucial for anything they’ll do in life,” said Nature Center Executive Director Leila Wetmore.

The Darien Nature Center is located at 120 Brookside Road in Cherry Lawn Park. The Book Fair will be held Monday, Nov. 27 and Tuesday, Nov. 28 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Purchases can also be made online: https://b6095.myubam.com. (All online orders must be placed by Nov. 28 to ensure Christmas delivery.) For further information contact Administrative Affairs Manager Leah Salomoni at 203-655-7459.
