Crowds Go Wild! At Gathering In Greenwich For Land Trust

GREENWICH, Conn., -- Families flocked to the annual Go Wild! Family Field Day on Sunday as the Greenwich Land Trust hosted its major fundraiser under bright, sunny skies with summer-like temperatures.

The event was held at the Greenwich Polo Field at Conyers Farm located off North Street in backcountry Greenwich.

The highlight, as always, were the hot air balloons that colorfully adorned the field. Patrons were able to get a short ride up into the air for a beautiful view of Greenwich before they were pulled back down to earth.

There were more earth-bound attractions as pony rides, potato sack races and a mechanical bull provided other thrills.

The event is the major fundraiser for the Land Trust that either owns or has ownership rights - also known as conservation easements - to 741 acres stretching from the Greenwich shoreline to the backcountry. The and is preserved in its natural state and can never be developed.
