STAMFORD, Conn. ? Were you sexually abused as a child? If so, crisis counselor Tracy Guglieri wants to help you heal.
Guglieri and other counselors with The Center for Sexual Assault Crisis Counseling and Education will be holding weekly meetings for people struggling with the aftereffects of child abuse. The program will follow a 21 steps developed by Adult Survivors of Child Abuse , a press release said.
The goal is to give survivors a safe, non-judgmental environment where they can speak, share and listen to others going through similar situations. Each meeting will be discussion-based, and there will be welcome and wrap-up sessions at the beginning and end.
The group sessions are ongoing and abuse survivors can join at any time. They started Aug. 25. The group meets Thursday nights from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the YWCA Darien/Norwalk . To join, call the center at (203) 348-9346.
