Each day, COBS Bread donates its bread to local charities, including Liberation House, Liberation’s long-term inpatient program for men.
COBS Owners Louise and Rob Hyden decided to hold the fundraiser as part of their commitment to giving back to the community and to further their support for the men seeking treatment at Liberation House.
Liberation House residents were on hand to flip burgers and cook hot dogs for the many customers who came out in support. Starbucks donated beverages for the successful event, which raised $600.
“We are so grateful to COBS Bread for their donations of bread to the men of Liberation House and for their consistent generosity,” said Alan Mathis, Liberation Programs’ President and CEO. “Together, we are working toward Liberation’s mission to help save lives.”
Liberation Programs is a private, nonprofit substance abuse prevention and treatment organization serving more than 2,000 individuals and families annually throughout lower Fairfield County since 1971.
Its mission is to empower people and their families to be free of the disease of addiction by providing targeted solutions that restore lives and strengthen our community.
Liberation provides services for youth, adults and families that include two inpatient treatment programs, outpatient and intensive outpatient services, health education for older adults and people living with HIV/AIDS and other chronic illnesses, treatment and resources for adolescents and their families, education and prevention efforts in the community, and permanent supportive housing for families.
