The Carver Center in Norwalk will host its annual Career Fair on Thursday, Jan. 13, from 4 to 5:30 p.m. The Center is located at 7 Academy St. in Norwalk. Admission is free and open to all.
Students will have the opportunity to meet with a wide spectrum of professionals and explore future education and career goals in technology, medicine and many other disciplines.
Professionals who have agreed to participate include a member of the News 12 team, a pharmacist, podiatrist, nurse, EMT specialist, occupational therapist, accountant, photographer, IBM information technology officer, a corporate chief information officer, a police officer, appliance serviceman, banker, a children's author and illustrator, a dentist, Marine and National Guard recruiters, social worker, engineer, professional cartoonist, and representatives from Norwalk Community Colleges culinary school and the Fairfield County Sports Commission.
The Career Fair is the highlight of Carver's annual "Meet the Professional Series," where Carver students gain insights from professionals. The event is a collaborative effort with the support of Noroton Presbyterian Church volunteers.
The Carver Center seeks to build lifetime achievers with the support of hundreds of volunteers through a wide range of educational, scholarship, summer camp, after-school and enrichment programs.
