“Your voting record over the last two legislative sessions on key issues important to small business indicated that you will continue to be committed to the needs of thousands of Main Street small businesses and their employees in Connecticut when you are re-elected to serve in Hartford,” Andy Markowski, state director of NFIB Connecticut, and Wendy Traub, chair of the NFIB Connecticut SAFE Trust committee, wrote in a letter dated Sept. 17.

Lavielle (R-143) represents parts of Wilton, Norwalk and Westport. She is being challenged by Keith Rodgerson, a Democrat.

“Connecticut’s recovery from the recession is lagging behind the rest of the country, and it’s urgent and critical to get people back to work,” Lavielle said in a press release. “More than 75 percent of our state’s businesses have fewer than 20 employees, so small businesses are a key driver of our economy.”

“As (a) ranking member of the General Assembly’s commerce committee, one of my highest priorities is reducing the ongoing structural costs of doing business and eliminating burdensome regulations, so that Connecticut can offer these businesses an environment where they can thrive and create jobs. I am grateful for NFIB’s endorsement and its recognition of my commitment to fighting for policies that benefit small and independent businesses.”
