Andy Garfunkel Joins Trustees At Norwalk's Lockwood-Mathews Mansion

NORWALK, Conn. – The Lockwood-Mathews Mansion Museum in Norwalk recently welcomed former Town Clerk Andy Garfunkel to its Board of Trustees.

“I am very excited to become a Trustee at the Lockwood-Mathews Mansion Museum, and look forward to bringing renewed awareness of this city and national treasure to a whole new generation,” Garfunkel said in a press release.

Garfunkel, a lifelong city resident, was Norwalk’s Town Clerk from 2001 to 2011. During his tenure, he garnered more than $50,000 in state grant funding for the preservation of city records and the acquisition of new technologies for the Town Clerk’s office.

He also managed the preservation of numerous city records and archives, and partnered with Norwalk Public Schools to offer job opportunities and training to students.

“We are thrilled that Andy Garfunkel is joining the Museum’s Board of Trustees,” said Patsy Brescia, museum chairwoman, in a press release.

“He brings energy and talents that will be of great value to LMMM. Andy will be co-chairing the Victorian Ice Cream Social in June.”

Garfunkel is a Realtor with William Raveis Real Estate. He has volunteered for numerous causes locally, including the Norwalk Seaport Association Board of Trustees, the Norwalk Historical Society, the Norwalk Preservation Trust, the Norwalk Senior Center Board of Trustees, Congregation Beth-El of Norwalk, and Connecticut Playmakers of Greenwich.

Garfunkel majored in theatrical design at the University of Bridgeport. He is a member of the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees.

Garfunkel has two grown sons who attended Norwalk Public Schools.
