Agnes Fay, 90, Former Norwalk Legal Secretary

NORWALK, Conn. – Agnes W. Fay of Merrimack, N.H., formerly of Norwalk, died on May 15 at Bedford Hills Care and Rehabilitation Center in Bedford, N.H. She was 90.

Fay was a former longtime resident of Norwalk and worked as a legal secretary.

She was born on March 17, 1922 in Norwalk, a daughter of Charles J. and Helen M. Kiernan Wacha. Fay worked as a legal secretary for her late husband's law firm. She also worked for the Norwalk Sherriff’s Department. She was an avid reader and enjoyed rug hooking, bird watching and animals. 

Fay lived in Mount Laurel, N.J., for more than 10 years before moving to Amherst, N.H. Most recently, she lived with her daughter and son-in-law in Merrimack, spending many summers with the family on Lake Winnipesaukee. She was a communicant of St. Patrick Church in Milford, N.H. 

She is survived by a son, Christopher W. (Carolyn) Fay II, of Venice, Calif.; two daughters, Michelle (Anthony) Varga, of Merrimack and Patricia (Mairtin McDonough) Fay, of Inismeain County, Galway, Ireland; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, John R. Fay; and a son, John R. Fay, Jr. 

There are no visiting hours. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Friday in New Hampshire. Burial will take place in Riverside Cemetery in Norwalk on Saturday at 1 p.m. Smith and Heald Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
