Tempt With Treats for Valentine's Day

Looking for a treat for your sweeties this Valentine’s Day? Here are a few local goodies to get you on your better half’s good side. After all, the quickest way I know to someone’s heart is through their sweet tooth.

Sweet Rexies in Fairfield hosts a party for the pint-sized crowd. Kids will create, decorate and devour their own ice creams sundaes, and take home a special something from this candy emporium. Games and crafts will round out the fun, but as any mini foodie knows, it’s all about the ice cream. This scrumptious celebration is happening on Sunday, Feb. 13, from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. While the kids are crowning their creamy creations, indulge yourself in a homemade Tiramisu truffle. Call Sweet Rexies at (203) 254-3254 for more information.

Local Queen of Cupcakes, Dough Girl , has something sweet up her sleeve, too. From Feb. 8 -13, she’s offering a two-for-one deal her signature mini confections, cupcakes so delicious you can taste the love. Find them at Rowayton FLEA, located at 158B Rowayton Avenue, behind SAILS restaurant. Drop by Thursday evening, Feb. 10, and enjoy a complementary glass of wine.

Or, stay home with your honey and devour a decadent, homemade carrot cake from Connie’s Cakes . A smooth blend of sweet and spicy, Connie’s Carrot Cake has everything nice for your Valentine. You can even have it delivered to you for free. But you have to place your order by 5:00 p.m. on Feb. 12 to have it in time for the big day. Order one cake for $35.00, or, if you’re wooing more than one, two cakes for $67.50. Want more information? Ask for it at .
