DANBURY/NORWALK, Conn. -- A taste of Disney has come to Fairfield County: Stew Leonard's is now dishing up its new Dole Pineapple Whip.
The soft-serve treat — it's vegan, dairy-free, cholesterol-free, fat-free, and lactose-free — is made with all-natural colors and is produced in a peanut-free facility. Fans say it tastes like frozen pineapple.
The ice cream department manager at the Norwalk store recently visited Disneyland and saw a huge line for Dole Whip. He had never heard of it before but stood in line to get a taste.
When he returned from vacation, he made a few calls and voilà — it's Dole Whip at Stew’s! It will be served at the ice cream counter all summer.
Customers who spend $100 can get a free cone of Dole Whip instead of a free ice cream cone.
It is available at both the Norwalk and Danbury locations. Go to www.stewleonards.com/ for more information.
