SoNo Arts Celebration Hits The Streets In Norwalk

NORWALK, Conn. – It’s time to get artsy again, Norwalk. The annual SoNo Arts Celebration kicks off with a party this Friday, Aug. 3 at 6 p.m. sharp. With two stages featuring live music, more than 150 artists and more food and drink than you can shake a paintbrush at, it promises to be one of the premier celebrations of the summer.

Three bands get the party started Friday night with appearances on the Main Stage by Norwalk's own funky groovemasters, The Juicy GrapesThe Wondermics and Roots of Creation. And music continues through the weekend, with performances by Satellite RockersChris McDermott and local legend P.J. Pacifico among the highlights.

Come hungry because delicious offerings are plentiful: Ginger ManNaked Greens, Chocopologie, Ben & Jerry’s and Bistro Box are all among the vendors who will satiate your appetite.

Don’t leave the kids at home, as there’s plenty to please them at the street festival. The children’s stage will feature family-friendly acts from the School of Rock, Dre Towey and puppet shows aplenty. In the children’s art playground, kids can be the stars of their own art shows, with puppet making, a mural wall and balloon animals making the scene.

For discerning art lovers, artists from across the country will showcase their original works all weekend long, with nearly every medium represented.

The festival is the perfect canvas on which to paint some colorful summer memories. Admission is free and the celebration happens all weekend. More details, including parking information, are available on the festival’s website and Facebook page.
