Anne Borges, who has worked at the “calfe” for many years, said the crowd usually starts in around 1 p.m. and doesn’t let up until 5 p.m. When there’s a concert or car show, business picks up, too, she said.

Borges said kids almost always go for the ice cream case first, while adults prefer cool drinks — like iced coffee.

Calf Pasture was abuzz with beachgoers seeking to cool off Wednesday. Temperatures in Norwalk hit 90 degrees Fahrenheit — and are expected to reach the 90s again on Thursday.
