NORWALK, Conn. -- Norwalk Concert Hall will host the production of Lisa B. Thompson's play, "Single Black Female” on Saturday at 2 and 7 p.m.
Deemed "socially significant and very entertaining" by The New York Times, audiences can witness the perils and pleasures through stories of tales and truths of being a single middle class black woman told by two women.
Connecticut based companies Bottom Line Consulting Group LLC and Top of the Line Event Planning have partnered to produce the production with a new director and new cast.
"The women in 'Single Black Female' say the things women think but very rarely speak of. I attended a 2006 production of this play and I wanted to share my experience with others. I teamed up with Melissa McCoy of Top of The Line Event Planning to bring my vision to fruition," says Sheilene Snipes, Managing Director of Bottom Line Consulting Group LLC.
The leading ladies of "Single Black Female" are Sharae Massey (Single Black Female 1) and Ta-Tanishia Pearson (Single Black Female 2). Westchester New York popular playwright Paul Bratcher of Bratcher Entertainment Group is the director.
Production set furnishings are provided by Helping Hands Community Thrift Store and Furniture Bank.
The Norwalk Concert Hall is at 125 East Ave. East Norwalk, Conn,
Tickets are $35 in advance and $45 at the door. They can be purchased here.
