NORWALK, Conn. -- Registration is open for the Slammer Tennis World Summer Camp for Youth in Norwalk.
The camp is for children ages 6-16 designed to teach participants the basics of tennis (rules, ground strokes, volleys, the overhead, and the serve) in a fun-filled atmosphere. It will also incorporate some light exercises and footwork drills to build stamina.
Campers will be grouped by age. All participants must bring their own tennis racquet, snack and a water bottle to camp each day. At the completion of this six-week tennis camp, participants will receive a certificate.
Experienced and inexperienced players will enjoy this camp. It will be conducted at Mathew’s Park Tennis Courts, next to Lockwood-Mathews Mansion.
Sessions begin July 4 and July 25 and run from 9 a.m. to noon. Make up week for both sessions is Aug. 15-19. There are no make-ups except for inclement weather; any classes cancelled due to inclement weather will be made-up during the make-up week.
Fees are $332 per student per session and each session runs for three weeks. Register online at www.slammertennisworld.com or via mail by downloading a registration form from the website and mailing it along with your check or money order to the address on the website.
