The all-day festivities included a "Make a Cake and Party Hats" activity for kids of all ages. BooZoo made a special appearance at all the usual Wednesday programs, including Toddler Tales, Looking Up, Music Time and Zumba Kids.
Anna Zap from the Star 99.9-FM morning show was on stage next to the museum’s iconic “Color Coaster” for a live broadcast.
Norwalk Mayor Harry Rilling dropped by to join in the celebration. He helped to give out cupcakes for all, including gluten-free and vegan options.
In the afternoon, an original “Birthday Skit” was performed by Team Stepping Stones. Then, BooZoo joined the crowd to sing Happy Birthday. A custom-made 15th birthday piñata was lowered from the heights of the multi-media gallery. Kids enjoyed all the non-edible treats inside, then danced to on-screen fireworks, and followed that by signing a gigantic happy birthday card.
Stepping Stones Museum is an award-winning, private, nonprofit 501(c)(3) children’s museum committed to broadening and enriching the lives of children and families.
It is located on 5 acres in Mathews Park at 303 West Ave. The LEED Gold certified museum encompasses five hands-on galleries, state-of-the-art multi-media gallery, Family and Teacher Resource Center, cafe and retail store.
Stepping Stones is open Labor Day through Memorial Day, Tuesdays through Sundays and select holiday Mondays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Memorial Day through Labor Day, Mondays through Sundays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
