The magazine asked 89 dining experts to compile a list of the best restaurants throughout the state, and readers then voted for the top five restaurants and several honorable mentions in 25 different categories.
Valencia Luncheria, located on Main Street, was the only local restaurant to be listed more than once, receiving designation under the “Best Value” category and honorable mention for “Best Mexican/Latin.” Brasitas on Main Avenue received honors under the “Best Mexican/Latin category.
The Restaurant at Rowayton Seafood on Rowayton Avenue was honored in the “Best Seafood" category, and The Ginger Man was honored in the “Best Pub” category.
The Loft, located on Washington Street, was named under “Best Cocktails.”
Jeff’s Cuisine on North Main Street was among the “Best Barbecue,” and Barcelona, also on North Main Street, received “Best Appetizers” honors.
Sugar & Olives on Lois Street received an honorable mention under "Best Breakfast," and Nicholas Roberts Gourmet Bistro on Main Street received an honorable mention under “Best Brunch.”
Kazu on North Main Street received an honorable mention under the "Best Sushi," and Match on Washington Street received an honorable mention under "Best American."
The Spread, Tacos Mexico and Los Portales rounded out the Norwalk honors, nabbing honorable mentions in "Best Appetizers," “Best for Families” and "Best Value," respectively.
