New BMW SUV Faces Recall

It's barely been on the road long enough to get its bumpers dirty, but the 2011 BMW X3 is already facing a recall over a potentially serious problem. According to Autoblog, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has determined that a control module in the car's electric power steering system might malfunction, an event that could result in a loss of power steering.

The recall only affects X3s built between April 27, 2011 and June 8, 2011, and covers 50 vehicles. Owners of these models will be notified, and BMW dealers will repair the control module free of charge.
