NORWALK, Conn. Looking to raise awareness about the threat posed by rising waters in the coastal area, the Norwalk League of Women Voters is holding a forum Monday evening entitled Coastal Resiliency: Role of Citizens and Local Governments in an Era of Sea Level Rise and Climate Change.
The forum is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at the Rowayton Library Community Room, 33 Highland Ave. The event is free and open to the public.
Speakers will include a representative from the National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration who will discuss the scientific impact of sea level rise on area coasts and some methods to reduce impact.
Additionally, a representative from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service will speak about the impact to rising seas pose to coastal wetlands and habitats.
