NORWALK, Conn. -- Norwalk Union Cemetery begins to show signs of spring as leaves appear on trees under bright blue skies.

This photo, from Norwalk resident Edward Yaeger, shows off a beautiful spot in the city.

Norwalk Union Cemetery, a working cemetery since 1850, has many interesting monuments. The cemetery includes a monument to Edward Hawley Fitch, 24, who died at Andersonville during the Civil War.

Many prominent families of Norwalk such as Legrand Lockwood, the original owner of the Lockwood-Mathews mansion, the Bettses, Hubbells and Mallorys have buried their loved ones at Norwalk Union Cemetery.
