Firefighters Fire Up Their Grills

The Fairway Firefighters Food Face-Off is fast approaching. It’s a major culinary match-up, pitting Stamford, Darien and Ridgefield firefighters against one another to prove their barbecue prowess.

These local heroes will cook up their best ribs and burgers for a panel of expert judges, including Lou Gorfain of the venerable CTbites team and Bobby Valentine, who needs no introduction. The victors will enjoy local fame and glory, along with a $500 gift card good for firehouse groceries.

It all simmers down to a delicious day of excellent eats, local music and other giveaways for the rest of us unofficial judges to enjoy. The throwdown goes down Saturday, June 25 at noon at the Stamford Fairway, 699 Canal St.
