That's because this former Fairfield resident and alumnus of Fairfield High School says there's no place like home. "It's amazing to have my movie shown in the area where I grew up," he said. "Connecticut has never had a countywide film festival before, and I think there's a real desire in the area, so I think it will be enjoyable."
Plus, his parents, who now live in Darien, will be in attendance.
"Night Owls" is being shown as part of the inaugural Greenwich International Film Festival (GIFF) running through Sunday.
Hood and his cinematographer Adrian Correia will be at both showings to answer questions. The movie will be screened at 2:30 p.m. Friday and at 6 p.m. Saturday. Tickets are $15 and are available at www.greewichfilm.org/.
"Night Owls" is a comedy and love story that begins with a drunken one-night stand. And no, it's not autobiographical, said Hood, though both of the main characters have aspects of them that bear some resemblances, especially the Adam Pally character.

The University of Southern California film school graduate, who previously worked as a staff writer for MTV and TV Land, is currently working on a project he wrote about a family of three brothers that he hopes to shoot in upstate New York later this summer. This one, he said, is definitely more personal.
Hood’s films, including his first feature film "Freezer Burn," have won awards including “Best Feature” “Best Short” and “Best of Festival” in several film festivals.
