Lauren Robak is the stylish proprietor of Wilton’s chic Une Minette boutique. And while shopping Une Minette has always been a treat, Robak is upping the ante.

She has teamed with Rosanna Coughlin, owner of krik-it kids clothing boutique, to develop a series of trunk shows entitled “Love Your Local Artist.”

“’Shopping local’ is really big right now,” says Robak. “But I think it has to go both ways. I love to see stores giving back to the community, too. That’s what we’re trying to do with these events, helping to promote local artists within the community.”

Up next on the event list is a trunk show highlighting the work of former supermodel, Nancy DeWeir Geaney. Geaney, now a Wilton resident, is the creative force behind Vagabond’s Daughter, a design house for handmade, fair trade, organic silks. Geany’s fabrics will be in the store from Thursday, April 26, through Saturday, April 28.

Additionally, Geaney will hold three specific dying demonstrations, explaining one of her favorite processes for hand-dying silk. The demonstrations will also be held at Une Minette on Thursday, April 26, at 11 a.m. and again at 1 p.m. and Saturday, April 28, at 1 p.m.

Thursday, April 26, krik-it kids will host a show featuring the hand painted works for the home by The Dahl House.

Find event details and a video highlighting the work of Geaney on Une Minette's Facebook page.
