YW Paddle Tennis: Registration for the fall 2014 and winter 2015 paddle tennis season is now available. The program is open to current YW members and their spouses. The courts are at Weed Beach in Darien. Registration is on a first-come-first-served basis. Job Search Support: Microsoft Word and Excel classes are offered on Thursdays with both day and evening hours. Keyboarding/typing class offered on Tuesdays or Thursdays. Services offered year-round include one-on-one resume writing assistance, individualized job search strategy/coaching as well as Microsoft Office tutoring. New this year: Membership dues cover access to all of the YW clubs, including International Club, Newcomers Club, Inspire, Town Club, Network of Working Women and Playgroups. Winetasters & Gourmet: Registration for YW members is ongoing. This is a great way to meet and mingle with other YW members and spouses in small group settings. Upcoming events:
- Tuesday, Oct. 28, and Thursday, Oct. 30 – The YW will partner with EDC Educational Services for a book fair to benefit YW’s Toddler Time Program, and the gently used book drive to benefit Books2Connect from 10-11:30 a.m. at YWCA Darien/Norwalk, 49 Old Kings Highway North, Darien.
- Saturday, Nov. 1 – The YW Newcomers Fall Party at Stepping Stones Museum for Children, 303 West Ave., Norwalk.
- Thursday, Dec. 4 – The sixth annual Cookies, Cocktails and A Cause event at Nielsen’s Florist & Garden Shop at 1405 Post Road, Darien.
